Refund & Return Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
That’s Not Art is a small independent brand, and many of our clothes and posters are produced especially for each order. Because of the size of our business, we are currently unable to offer an extended or unlimited returns service. As we grow, we hope to introduce a more flexible voluntary returns policy.
This does not affect your legal rights. The policy below explains the returns and refunds we currently provide, including your rights when shopping online.
Change-of-mind returns
If you are a UK customer, you may cancel your order for any reason by notifying us within 14 days of receiving it. After notifying us, you then have a further 14 days to return the item.
To request a return, email [YOUR CUSTOMER-SERVICE EMAIL] with:
- Your full name
- Your order number
- The item you wish to return
- A clear statement that you want to cancel your order
Please wait for our return instructions before sending anything back.
Items may be inspected and clothing may be tried on in the same way as it would be in a shop. Please return items clean, unworn beyond trying them on, and with any original tags and packaging where reasonably possible.
We may reduce the refund if an item has lost value because it has been handled more than was reasonably necessary to inspect it.
For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the return postage cost. We strongly recommend using a tracked service and keeping your proof of postage, as the item remains your responsibility until it reaches us.
Personalised and custom-made items
The right to cancel does not apply to goods made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised for you. This includes products featuring a name, personal message, customer-supplied image or another custom alteration requested by you.
An item being produced after an order is placed does not, by itself, make it personalised. This exception applies only where the product has been created or altered to your individual requirements.
Personalised or custom-made items can still be returned if they are faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrect.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect items
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, not as described or different from what you ordered, contact us as soon as possible at thatsnotartshop@gmail.com
Please include:
- Your full name
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Clear photographs of the item and packaging, where possible
Photographs help us resolve the issue more quickly but do not limit your legal rights.
Depending on the circumstances and your statutory rights, we will offer an appropriate remedy. This may include a refund, repair or replacement.
Where an item is confirmed as faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrect, we will cover reasonable return costs or provide return instructions at our expense.
Exchanges
Because we are a small business, we do not currently operate a direct exchange service.
If you require a different standard size or design, please return the original eligible item through the change-of-mind process and place a new order.
This does not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or incorrect.
Refunds
Once we receive your return, we will inspect it and confirm the outcome by email.
Where a change-of-mind return is accepted, we will refund:
- The price paid for the returned item
- The cost of our least expensive standard delivery option where the entire order is cancelled
Any additional amount paid for express, premium or enhanced delivery will not be refunded beyond the cost of standard delivery.
Refunds will be made to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or receiving evidence that they have been sent back, whichever is earlier.
We may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or evidence that they have been returned.
Your bank or payment provider may require additional time to show the refund in your account.
Cancelling an order
You have 24 hours from the time your order is placed to request a cancellation or make changes. After this period, your order enters production and can no longer be cancelled or amended before dispatch.
This 24-hour production policy does not affect any cancellation or refund rights you may have under UK consumer law, including your rights concerning faulty, damaged or incorrect products.
Colour and print appearance
Colours can appear slightly different between screens and printed materials. Minor variations may also occur between production runs.
These reasonable variations are not normally considered faults. This does not affect your rights if the product is materially different from its description or the design displayed when you ordered.
Returning an item
Do not send returns to the manufacturer, print partner or the address displayed on a parcel without contacting us first.
We will provide the correct return instructions and address for your order.
We are not responsible for returns sent to the wrong address or lost because the return instructions were not followed, except where the law provides otherwise.
'Usually no returns'
Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under applicable consumer law, including the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
